THC explained
THC usually refers to delta-9 THC, the primary intoxicating cannabinoid in cannabis. It is what most people associate with feeling high. THC can affect mood, perception, appetite, time perception, coordination, and short-term memory.
What changes the THC experience
- Dose: more THC usually means stronger effects, but the relationship is not always linear.
- Method: inhaled cannabis acts faster than edibles; edibles last longer.
- Tolerance: frequent users may need more to feel the same effect.
- Terpenes and other cannabinoids: the full profile can shape the experience.
- Set and setting: mood, environment, food, sleep, and stress all matter.
THC % vs mg
THC percentage tells you concentration by weight. Milligrams tell you an amount. A 20% THC flower means 20% of its weight is THC or THC-equivalent depending on the label. One gram of 20% flower is about 200 mg total THC before losses. That does not mean your body absorbs 200 mg. Smoking, vaping, digestion, and metabolism all reduce or change what is actually absorbed.
